For this month’s Carpinteria Birdwatchers meeting we are pleased to have a presentation by local birdwatcher Linus Blomqvist, who is currently doing an American Birding Association (ABA) big year. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, at the Carpinteria Community Library and via Zoom.
As of now Linus is ranked 5th in the ABA area (the 50 US states plus Canada) with 752 species identified. Linus will discuss his experiences and share insights from his birdwatching journey across the continent, from Maine to Florida to Alaska. The presentation will include photographs and stories highlighting the diverse bird species and habitats encountered during his travels. This session offers an inside look into the process and dedication involved in a big year challenge.
As always, Carpinteria Birdwatchers meetings are open to all ages and skill levels. We encourage anyone with an interest in birds to join us.
