I won’t be doing a Carpinteria Birdwatchers Zoom meeting in November. I previously accepted an offer from Santa Barbara Audubon to be the speaker for their November program, and prepping for two programs in the same week, at the same time I’m busy with preparations for the upcoming Christmas Bird Count, turned out to be more than I could handle. So: No Carp Birdwatchers Zoom meeting this month.
On the bright side, if you want you can totally participate in the talk I’m doing for Santa Barbara Audubon. That will be on the Carpinteria Snowy Plovers that nested at the State Beach last summer. The meeting will take place via Zoom at 7:30 p.m. this coming Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Details, including the Zoom link, are here:
Program: The Carpinteria Snowy Plovers: A First Successful Nesting in 60 Years
Also, if you are as excited as I am about the upcoming Carpinteria Christmas Bird Count, you can re-watch the two meetings we did last year before we (sadly) decided to cancel the 2020 count due to COVID-19. Those videos, which covered our count circle (the November 19, 2020, meeting) and procedures for submitting checklists on count day (the December 5, 2020, meeting), are embedded below.
Finally, we will be having our monthly outing in November. I’m planning to lead a group at Santa Monica Creek this coming Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 8 a.m. I’ll post a separate item about that shortly.
Thanks, everyone!
