For this month’s meeting we’ll visit a spot in Carpinteria that’s become very popular with visiting birders in the last few months: The Carpinteria Sanitary District offices on 6th Street, where an adult male Painted Bunting has been seen for the second winter in a row. Join us there on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 8 a.m.
Besides the bunting several other rarities have been seen nearby recently: Broad-billed Hummingbird, Yellow-breasted Chat, Swinhoe’s White-eye, Palm Warbler, and Green-tailed Towhee. There’s no guarantees in birding, but with luck we might see one or more of those birds on Saturday. Hope to see you there!
