This month’s Carpinteria Birdwatchers Zoom meeting will take place a little later in the month than we’ve been having them. The meeting will be on the evening of Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 6:30 pm Pacific, and will feature special guest Jenny Slaughter. Jenny will talk about two topics:
- An update on the status of brown pelicans, including the release of birds rehabilitated by the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network, and
- Jenny’s recent trip to remote Big Pine Mountain, the highest peak in Santa Barbara County, where she participated in an ongoing annual survey of breeding bird species.
Update: We also plan to have Peter Gaede and Steve Colwell in the meeting, which means we’ll have two of the three bird survey trips made to Big Pine Mountain this summer represented. It should be fun!
