This Thursday evening I will be giving a talk about sea-level rise in Carpinteria at the Carpinteria Community Library. The talk is part of the “Wild Things” series sponsored by the library, and will draw on my experience as a former member of the Carpinteria Planning Commission and the city’s General Plan Update Advisory Committee. It’s not about birds or bird-watching, but might be of interest to members of Carpinteria Birdwatchers, so I’m going ahead and announcing it here.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. (a half-hour earlier than our Carpinteria Birdwatchers meetings) on Thursday, February 6, 2025 in the Carpinteria library’s public meeting room. The meeting is free and open to anyone who is interested, and will also be available via Zoom and YouTube livestream. The YouTube video of the meeting will be available on this page afterwards.
I hope you can make it! — John Callender
