After six years of monthly Carpinteria Birdwatchers meetings, I’ve decided to take a break. We’ve had a great run — fascinating topics, wonderful guest speakers, and good conversations with fellow birders. I’m proud of what we’ve built together, and grateful to everyone who’s participated.
Starting this month (March, 2026), monthly meetings will be on hiatus for at least the next several months. I want to step back and think about what Carpinteria Birdwatchers looks like going forward — what’s working, what we might do differently, and what new directions might be worth exploring.
In the meantime, our monthly group outings will continue. These have been some of my favorite Carpinteria Birdwatchers activities, and there’s no better way to enjoy birding than getting out in the field together. Keep an eye on the website for upcoming outing announcements.
I’ve put together an index of our past meetings, all of which are available on YouTube. Six years of talks on local birding topics is a resource worth having easy access to.
Thanks for being part of this. More to come.
