Update: Apologies (again) for the late notice, but due to the lingering effects of stomach flu I won’t be able to lead the outing at Toro Canyon Park on the originally scheduled date, and so am cancelling this Saturday’s outing and rescheduling it for next month. (You’re all welcome — and encouraged! — to go birding there anyway; you just won’t have me to lead you.) Please join us next month on April 22 for an official group outing to the same location. Hope to see you then! — John
Our next group outing will be a return to Toro Canyon Park. Spring is in the air, so should be a great time to hear oak and chaparral birds singing in this quiet setting.
- Location: Toro Canyon County Park, 576 Toro Canyon Park.
- Date/time: Saturday, April 22, 2023, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- Details: From Via Real, take Toro Canyon Road north for 3 miles, then turn right on Toro Canyon Park road. The park entrance is on the left about a mile along the road. We’ll do an easy stroll around the park’s parking lots and picnic areas.
As always, Carpinteria Birdwatcher outings are free and open to all ages and ability levels. Hope to see you there!
Do I need binoculars to participate?
Not at all. Though if you’d like to borrow a pair for the event there are several of us who will be there who’d be happy to help you out.
