Our monthly outings resume after a short summer hiatus with a visit to a new spot near a familiar waterway: the 6th Street area near Carpinteria Creek, including the area around the Carpinteria Sanitary District offices. It’s just downstream from the 8th Street footbridge we’ve birded in the past, and we’ll be looking for lingering summer residents along with any early fall migrants that might be hanging around. Fall birding is starting to heat up (and hopefully the weather will be cooling down). Join us on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 8 a.m.
Tom Beland and Laurel Luby are vacationing back east and won’t be able to join us this time, but I’ll be there, along with anyone else who wants to come check things out.
