With many people (including me) busy with summer fun of various sorts, we’ve decided to skip the Carpinteria Birdwatchers meeting and outing for July. We’ll resume with a new meeting and outing in August. Hope to see you then!

My name is Mary Watts and I live at the corner of Linden and Malibu, right across from Canalino School. Yesterday (July 17 ) tree trimmers started cutting down the big eucalyptus trees. I emailed the city manager, Michael Ramirez, about it. He said the school district requested it. Supposedly they aren’t cutting 2 trees that have hawk nests in them – yet. We neighbors were not informed at all about this. If trimming was done in a timely manner, this may not be necessary. 🫤 I thought your group may want to know about it.
