Join us on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. for the next Carpinteria Birdwatchers meeting. Please note that this meeting is on a Wednesday rather than our usual Thursday schedule. This month, we’ll tackle one of birding’s most rewarding challenges: getting to know our local sparrows and their sparrow-like cousins!
Continuing our popular “conversational” series inspired by language learning methods, this session will introduce the most commonly seen sparrows, finches, and similar species in Santa Barbara County. We’ll build confidence gradually through small, friendly lessons with plenty of repetition and practice. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by “little brown jobs,” this is your chance to turn that around, and maybe even discover that sparrows are more fun than you thought!
The meeting will take place at the Carpinteria Community Library and online via Zoom. Hope to see you there!
